the missing manual!

after struggling with previous versions of Crystal and VB, I didn't expect too much out of .net but was pleasantly surprise. The tool itself still is playing catch up to the regular version of Crystal but is miles ahead of previous versions. Like most of big Bill's products, the manuals were scarce in .net and the documentation on Crystal is sad. I had bought the complete reference and it was thin on developer topics, so I was happy to find this book and it provides excellent coverage on report integration, but why didn't Crystal do this themselves?!? once again WROX has the best.

throw out the other books - this is the DHTML bible

I started taking a serious interest in web design and development just two months ago and was overwhelmed by the storm of web technologies that hit me right up front: HTML, Dynamic HTML, JavaScript, DOM, CSS etc. This book laid a solid foundation for me. I can confidently say that I now understand how HTML, JavaScript, CSS and DOM combine to produce powerful, interactive and dynamic web pages. In fact, the coverage of JavaScript itself (in the many examples used throughout the book) was so comprehensive that I am now breezing through 'JavaScript: A Definitive Guide'. 'Dynamic HTML' by Danny GoodMan surely delivers on its promise as a definitive reference and then much more.

strong information; easy to read

I've never written a review before, but I feel that this book deserves it.

This is a great book! It's easy to read and has great information. I especially appreciated the practice questions at the end of each chapter. The practice questions and two sample tests strongly mimic the actual test.

I passed the SCJP with 83% after using Java for only one year and studying with this book.

Fresh Approach, New Scenario

Rather than update Microsoft Project 98 Step by Step, the authors of Project 2000 started with a fresh approach and a new scenario: a film project that provides excellent hands on activities for self-instruction.
Co-authored by a Project Management Institute certified "Project Management Professional," which in my experience as an IT project management consultant is a first for any MS Project books since the program appeared a decade ago, Microsoft Project 2000 Step by Step can be a very reliable introduction for those who are new to project management techniques and software. For experts who actually track the projects they've created in MS Project, there are tips on new features such as the Responsible Manager assignment on tasks allocated to several resources.
