Clear text and lot's of nice Oracle shell scripts

I really needed this book because I am a DBA from an NT environment and new to UNIX. This book is heavily Oracle-centric, and has a focus on managing Oracle in a UNIX environment, which is very different fron Windows NT. This is one of the few Oracle books that I found worthy of reading from end-to-end.
The only shortcoming that I noted was that it did not have enough scripts for Unixware and DEC-UNIX, but the coverage of Solaris, HP-UX and AIX is suberb.
The books starts at a beginner-level and moves on in a steady progression to advanced concepts, which I found really helpful.

Title: Network+ Guide to Networks, Third Edition

Excellent

I read this book cover-to-cover and passed with 95%. It does a great job of covering the details of networking and TCP/IP. It has more information than what you'll need for Network+, but that just means it does a great job covering everything. I've only got two more exams to go before MCSE 2000, and I'm certain the networking foundation has helped out a lot.

Title: C++ Primer (4th Edition)

Doesn't live up to 2nd edition

I am an experienced C/C++ programer and I have used the C++ Primer 2nd edition for quite a few years I and think it is excellent. I have owned this 3rd edtion for about a year now and I find it completely useless as a reference. Lippman's examples run on and take too long to get to the point. The book is about twice the length of the 2nd edition and winds up diluting the information and making it less clear as opposed to pressenting anything new.

Excellent PMP Study Guide

Great book. I found this book to be on target for the PMP examination. It's easy to follow, it's in step with PMI's PMBOK, and has over 700 questions. Excellent resource.
