Very Helpful

I thought that this book was EXTREMELY helpful to learning how to program games and other useful programs (I used it to make a program that finds areas of regular polygons to help me with math homework for example :) ) This book will help you learn the basics of programming which should be helpful for learning more complex languages. It may be difficult learning stuff like Loops or Arrays but the author helps you tremendously in those areas so they become quite easy. I really enjoyed this book and the game at the end of it, and I'd rate it a 6/5 if I was able to.

Servlets and JSP revealed!

This book was one of the best JAVA books I have ever purchased and worth every penny! The book walks you through all the fundamentals of servlets and JSP's and how to implement and integrate both. It is easy to understand and has a wealth of examples that will get you started writing your own servlets and JSP Tag libraries. I have used the examples extensively to add to and expand my own tag library. The only thing it was missing was a CD with all examples and some of the servlet runners, but with today's internet they are easy enough to get!

If you want to pass the test read this book

No kidding. I have a networking background of 20 years, but I would have failed the test if I hadn't reviewed this book. I spent 6 hours/day, for 6 days studying this book and taking the exam questions at the end of each chapter. I also recommend buzzing around the web for searches on test taking strategies for the cissp. Other than that I would contradict other reviewers and say that in addition to a good networking background (general knowledge of security wouldn't hurt either) this book is all you need. And yes I did pass the test!!
