Trading for Dummies

It's a very good intoduction to the world of trading and stocks market. I like the chapter about fundamental analysis and the basics of technical analysis. Quite clear and yet focused discussion of the main topics and techniques. I recommend this to anyone who have plans to study trading and stocks trading in particular. It should have been named "Stocks trading for Dummies" - but it's Ok.

The only way to learn c#

I am a huge fan of the how to program series, it is how I learned java. Since the how to learn java 2nd was rock solid, it was a no brainer for me to pick this book for c#. The line by line explanation of the code and tons of live examples are the key to learning as far as I am concerned (a newbie to c#). I am on ch 18 of this book and have written my own tools library (a wishlist of handy internet tools I have always wanted) and file back up and file syncronization manager (no way am I spending 25 bucks for an off the shelf app!). The book has a few code errors but that is no biggee, I was easily able to figure out solutions (plus that is when I knew I had learned something -- I when started catching mistakes) HEHE!

Great book for the Beginner

I can't say enough about this book. I am a beginner and I have learned so much from both the book and the author. Mike has done a wonderful job presenting the information. This book benefits both the beginner and the expert. I just could not put it down after a few chapters I had to continue on and keep learning. The book is designed in parts so that if you are already familiar with a particular area you can move through without waisting time. The companion disk provides all you need to jump right in and start writing your first application. Thanks Mike for a job well done. Many will reap the benefits from a true professional.

Good book, but needs an E-Book upgrade

In the past, I have gone to Sybex for all my certification needs. I decided to try the Microsoft Press books this time for 2 reasons. First, it is the only certification guide for XP Pro (so far) and second, the CD had the E-Book version. I was excited for the E-Book. It was going to give me a reason to purchase that new Pocket PC that I wanted. When the book came I started looking on the CD for the lit file (for the Microsoft Reader), but found out the book is nothing more than a Help file. Come on Microsoft, support your own E-Book format! There are plenty of IT professionals out there with Pocket PC's who would love to be able to carry this book on their PDA.
As for the content of the book, so far it seems well written. I like how each chapter is broken into lessons. This give me a good stoping point in the middle of a chapter so I can get on my computer and pratice what I have just learned.
