Great Book, using in my PSU networking class

This book is great, it starts from the beginning of the networking age and goes through all the newest technologies and ideas about networking. Covers the business aspects of networking, wireless, how TCP/IP works and pretty muct the 802 standars. Book covers everything, this is one book I won't be selling back. A really good reference book for the basics of networking and rules to follow as well when getting into the networking field.

Beware of vs.net versions

Nowhere in the editorial review does it say that this is suposed to be only for the vs.net version 2003 (I asumed it was simply a revised/improved version of visual basic.net step by step!)
So unless you have the vs.net 2003 version I recommend you buy the 2002 version of this book

Not Worth It

My background - a little bit of perl, BASIC language, html.
This book in the first 2 or 3 chapters walks you through as to 'what is PHP?', after that it becomes confusing, like what one reviewer have posted, the book becomes more of theoritical in its approach.
I would highly recommend 'PHP and MySQL Web Development' for those who are looking for that 'step by step' approach. Nothing like PHP for Dummies but just an indepth guide to proper PHP scripting.
The authors of 'Web Database Application' may be experts in PHP scripting but should need to develop their teaching ability.
Needless to say, this book is gathering dust.
