This book is pretty much worthless.

Do NOT buy this book for A+ study!! It is full of erroneous information. For instance, it states that the WIN2000 CD is not bootable but it is. It stated that the switch for installing accessibility options with WIN2000 was winnt.exe /h. This is wrong as well. Those are just a couple of examples. I passed the tests but it was in NO WAY from any help from this book. This book would be good for a beginner to learn more about computers but not someone who is about to spent [some] of their hard-earned money on certification exams. Avoid it like the plague!

Title: The Data Model Resource Book, Vol. 2: A Library of Data Models for Specific Industries
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Len Silverston
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Good Comprehensive Coverage

This book provide a truly comprehensive description and analysis of industry specific data models. Having work extensensivly in Data Warehousing in the Banking world, I was still able to get some good hints for my projects (and improvement suggestions for already implemented data warehouse)
I would suggest any data modeler to read its industry specific chapter before a new project. Also, I would not recommend to duplicate these models : they allow you to focus on the "firm specific" side of your model, so take the benefit of time to customize it rather than duplicate it.

Complete book

I personaly love this book. Its on my must have list. Its very up to date (3/E includes detailed case studies on Windows XP and Linux) and the information is presented in an easy to understand method. The pictures are orginized nicely in a way that they help with the concepts instead of just taking up space. As a computer engineering student Ive had many textbooks on subjects like this and this is by far one of if not the best in the subject matter. I definatly recomend this book.

Gets right to the heart of good design. Novice-intermediate

This is an easy to understand book appropriate for novice or itermediate design professionals.
She boils down good design into some simple rules. Some reviewers thought she talked down to the reader. I disagree.
