OK book with poorly written problems ending each chapter

The entire class has had difficulties with the problems in each chapter. It is difficult to determine what they want as an answer, the questions can be answered at many different levels and can get messy. Overall the biggest improvement they could make to this book would be the addition of more examples. The only saving grace I've seen so far in this book has been the interesting bits of history thrown in here and there. If you are a student and the book is required there isn't much you can do, but if not there has to be a better book out there.

Title: Advanced CORBA(R) Programming with C++
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
Authors: Michi Henning, Steve Vinoski
Rating: 4/5

Not easy to read but challenging...

The book is composed from two books. It's a mix of CORBA reference and tutorial. You have two books in one what is really great! However, from certain reasons the book is not easy to read. Reference and tutorial are not separated in any helpful way. They are mixed together. After the first part, during the remaining parts of the book, authors focus our attention on developing distributed Climate Control System. While reading you must actively skip some materials or go back depanding on your needs and skills. And this may be not easy, the book is not devided into levels of difficulty ( or everything is equally difficult? :), but is presented subject by subject in a reference manner.
Shortly, if you need some challenge, this is good place to look for because the book is definitely worth reading!

The best book available for Excel VBA

You can buy any of a dozen books that introduce you to VBA as it pertains to the entire MS Office suite, and they introduce you to the basics. This book, though, is strictly about Excel VBA! I have been looking for a book like this for a long time. Additionally, he does justice to the Win32 API and Class Modules which I have NEVER seen in any other book of this type. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate then this is the book you NEED! Lots of good source code on the CD too.
