Title: Applied Microsoft .NET Framework Programming
Publisher: Microsoft Press
Authors: Jeffrey Richter
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
I'd rate it a 7 if that were an option

If you look at all the book reviews, there are a few people who groaned that the title is misleading (which it can be - but please read the table of contents people), and one guy who is religious about his OReilly books. EVERYONE ELSE (including myself) agrees that this is simply the best "under the covers" look at .Net out there. Get a GOOD grasp on .Net first, then pick up this book and hang on. I'd rate it a 7 if that were an option.

Title: Beginning VB.NET (Programmer to Programmer)

Rating: 4/5

Slow starter

The book starts out a little slow for those who program in any other IDE but seems to pick up. It's well worded and easy to take in. I do have to go along with the others who posted on the appearance of the second guy on the cover. Looks like a photo you would find off of a book called "Profiles of a serial killer" Just my opinion of course ;)

Haven't read the book yet, but emailed Steve & he answered!

I haven't read the book yet, but I just bought it. I read the Mr. Nelson's statement (third reveiw listing) and took him up on his offer to email him with questions. He answered very quickly and was very helpful! I figure that any author that makes himself that available, must really believe in his book. Thanks Steve, appreciate your time.
