O'Reilly Books Rock!

Essential System Administration not only teaches you how to admin Unix systems, it teaches you how to truly understand and use Unix systems. The first chapter alone holds tons of information for Unix beginners and intermediates. Another great book from O'Rielly

Title: Apple Confidential 2.0: The Definitive History of the World's Most Colorful Company

insanaly great !!!

I've just finished Apple Confidential 2.0 and am convinced that there is no better history of Apple Computer. The accuracy lies in the careful presentation of factual information without an editorial slant which tends to fictionalize for the sake of entertainment. The story of Apple Computer is interesting enough without embellishment and in the style of the best historians, most of the information comes directly from first person perspectives and from Owen Linzmayer who has written and reported on apple since the early 1980's and is a legitimate first person source himself.
I found online a sincere, if begrudging, compliment to Owen Linzmayer's work in otherwise rather testy remarks by Jeff Raskin whose work in creating the Mac is often given short shrift. High praise indeed.
For myself, an avid Mac user, learning of the importance of Bill Gates to Apple and the long history between Microsoft and Apple was a real eye opener. There is one long memo from Bill Gates which is worth anyone's reading who might wish to grow beyond a typical knee-jerk anti-Microsoft sentiment.
I recommend this book without reservation.

Title: Mastering Delphi 7
Publisher: Sybex Inc
Authors: Marco Cantu, Marco Cantù
Rating: 4/5

The only reliable Delphi Book That Ive Seen So far

To cover all the reviews so far, they all have a bit of truth in them.
The book is not for the absolute beginner, but then no one book can cover it all. The book is basically for anyone that has learnt to move past the "hello world" program and understands normal programming theory (variables, loops, records etc), and really wants to get involved in "real world" programming.
This book teaches use of multiple forms in applications (how many single form applications, really exist in the real world, except for beginners books), differences in the use of Delphi Database Architectures, the use of the JET engine for access to Excel, etc., the use of Web Services and a little more in depth on Rave etc. as well as an introduction to .NET programming
If you are an absolute beginner programmer(nothing wrong with that), then another book may be more suitable, but if you are already across several languages, then this book is probably what you need to move to the next step.
Yes it is true, that the absolute basics have diminished with each book, but how many ways can you write the if...then loop, and I still have my Delphi 2 and 3 books for the basics (if I hit a mental block).
Anyhow, I hope this makes it a lot clearer, like all his previous books, it is well written and another welcome addition to my library.

Title: CWSP Certified Wireless Security Professional Official Study Guide (Exam PW0-200)

Great book that fully serves two purposes!

If you are looking for a book on Wireless LAN security, this is it. If you are considering the CWSP certification and want a great resource to help you prepare, this is also it. This book is not a study guide, regardless of the title. It IS a fantastic book on WLAN security, what it is, what the challenges are, what the responses should be, and how to implement them. That is also can help you prepare to sit the CWSP exam is a bonus provided by the "real-world" nature of that exam. If you are a WLAN implementor or an administrator, you need to get this book and read it cover to cover. It misses NOTHING!
