Nice to look at, but little content to read.

The whole book was interesting. Very interesting. There were a few items that will forever change the way I create forms and charts, which is a constant in my job. Beyond that, the book imparted a convincing, (almost personal) concept of substance vs. packaging that I probably wouldn't have learned otherwise, and which has already begun to affect the way I view myself. Thanks Ed.

Great for beginners

This book and its tutorials are excellent for the novice, but leaves many unanswered questions for the true designer. I went through each of the tutorials after work during an internship and it brought me up to speed but not up to skill. If you're new to solidmodeling, this will get you on the right track.
For students, not professionals.

Another wonderful masterpiece from Schneier

There is no much to say about this book other than that it is a masterpiece. If you have read his Applied Cryptography, then you will love this less-technical but still a great work. If there are people in computer security who are real professionals and are on the ball, Scheiner is in the first 10 of them. Highly recommended even for non-techies.

Best book out there for Java certification

I prepared with this book and scored 91% on Sun Certified Java Programmer exam. Study this book well, do the mock exam on the CDROM and the bonus exam you get to download by registering at their website and some good sample exams on javaranch.com, and you should be able to pass the certification without a problem. I was surprised to see the problems presented in the actual test resemble closely to the problems in this book in terms of wording and difficulty. One more thing about this book: very enjoyable to read (lots of humour). Definitely, worth buying.
