Title: Mastering C# Database Programming
Publisher: Sybex Inc
Authors: Jason Price

Great, but not for the beginners

This book is probably the best book in the market if you want to take your novice c# asp.net skills to intermediate/expert level. It provides plenty of good examples and practically all the knowledge you need to become a fully competent c# asp.net developer.

I especially found the chapter on SQL and T-SQL particulary awesome. As a Senior DBA who has worked on SQL for 7 years, I thought the author had superb knowledge of SQL transactions which I rarely see even amongst the SQL books. I highly suggest every c# developer to delve deelply into the SQL chapters of this book as it will increase your T-SQL transaction knowledge exponentially.

A True Eye Opener

I have been using this book for three weeks. Every time Google Hacking gets further than three feet from my keyboard, I get up, find it, put it back by my side. I first used the "recipies" in the book to locate intellectual property violations of SANS material. Next, I went on a digital painting campaign and created over 150 images and used the book to help me find the raw source material. Most recently, I have used the optimized searches the book shows one how to do to help with a research project.

Buy the book, try the searches, learn what is possible. It wouldn't hurt to use the book for its intended purpose as well, to see what information about you, about your organization is exposed on the Internet.

Robin Williams Design Workshop

This book was very insightful. I am a desktop publishing professional and was looking for ideas for website design. This book enlightened me to the many considerations in designing for paper distribution versus web publishing. It asked questions on a number of design topics and based upon your expertise level, the author directed you to other references. The illustrations were great. I am going to purchase The Non-Designers Design Book and The Non-Designers Web Book by Robin Williams and John Tollett.
