Interesting book

This is written as well as his previous book which became a PBS Nova documentary produced by him. His previous book about Fermat's theorem was on narrative side because of the shere depth of mathmatical understanding required to intepret Andrew Wile's ground breaking paper. I know a math professor who admitted that he didn't understand it at all! Anyway, this one is more technical. That is to say, he gives fairly detailed information on each code. Some of you who are interested in the technical aspects of the code will really enjoy this book. But there are enough interesting stories for those who are not keen on the subject to appreciate this book.

Flint for the brain..

When you need that creative spark, this book is enough to get those synapses firing. Good design is good design... whether you are trying to come up with a good layout for a small black and white ad in the paper or an annual report, the hundreds of designs break the rectangular barriers in your head and get you thinking in different design modes.
The Web design section is a little dated in that the designs were limited by the technology available at the time the screenshots were made, but a Web designer today can borrow the clever designs for the newsletters and brochures and transfer those ideas to the Web.
No designer should be without this on their reference shelf.

Comprehensive and Authoritative

I had been searching the web and other printed text on SNMP network management and found that most do not go into enough detail or the explanations are very vague. If I had picked up William Stalling's book 6 months ago, I would have saved myself a lot of time. If you decide to get a book on SNMP network management, make it this one. It is very comprehensive. Discusses and provides in-depth information on all topics relating to SNMP network management written in a clear and easy to read style. This book is essential for both students and working professionals, thanks to William Stallings.
