Title: Secrets and Lies : Digital Security in a Networked World
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Bruce Schneier
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Call Me Ishmael (or is it Bruce?)

At last in computer security, we have our Melville. Written with great wisdom and understanding, Bruce Schneier lays out a plan for hunting down the great evils stalking Cyberspace. Unlike Captain Ahab though, he is a realist. He argues we can't protect against every threat; no one layer of "protection" will ever be sufficient. If a reader gets nothing more from the book that computer security requires defenses in-depth, then he or she will have spent their time and money wisely. In fact, I can't conceive of any educated person not benefiting from "Secrets & Lies." Computer security has become a concern for all of us. And, Bruce Schneier offers a very liberal education on the topic.

From MASTER to all of you

DONT BUY THIS ONE. If you read this guide the game will become boring. Every game become boring if you hav his strategy guide. The main idea from this game is to kill Sephirot by yourself, but if you have the guide the game will become so easy that you will finish it in only 40 hours(usual hours of game play 70-199 hours). If you like your money dont buy this book. Take my advice: USE THAT MONEY IN OTHER THINGS LIKE GOING TO THE CINEMA. THIS BOOK SUCKS

Title: Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages, Vol. 1: Core Technologies, Second Edition

Not so good at explaining concepts

I am a hard-core JSP developer. I do not own this book. However, one of my friends show me two paragraphs of the book that he did not understand.
These 2 paragraphs were poorly written.
"Chapter 12.2 Including at Rquest Time".It is talking about <jsp:include> action. One sentence said, "On the other the page has been already been translated into a servlet by request time, so the included files cannot contain JSP."
The words "cannot contain" is very misleading. It should say something like, "<jsp:include> cannot make the including JSP contains the *source* of included JSP."

Title: The C++ Programming Language (Special 3rd Edition)
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
Authors: Bjarne Stroustrup
Rating: 1/5
Customer opinion - 1 stars out of 5
After two editorial updates, still poor

While the author is considered the "master" of C++, this book is far too long and detailed for the general reader. If you were to write a C++ compiler, you would require this book. If you want to learn C++, get something else.
I bought Stroustrup second edition. This edition adds items such as name spaces and the Standard Template Library which the author calls Standard C++ Library. However, this book is extremely detailed. Discussion of classes, the heart of C++, are left to page 200 or so into the book. There is an entire sections/chapters on the various nuances of the language that most programmers stay away from.. While this edition explores the standard C++ library, Stroustrup writing style makes it tedious to read.
Having said that, it is a must for the C++ programmers bookself as a reference on the finer points of C++, but not something to which to learn C++.
