Title: MySQL (3rd Edition) (Developer's Library)
Publisher: Sams
Authors: Paul DuBois

Great for beginners and experts for SQL

The book is a great reference for the full range of syntax that MySQL offers, and also taught me how to use basic SQL syntax. I did know a bit of SQL before I bought this book but I think if I didn't I wouldn't have a problem understanding it. Once you are through the basics there is a pretty sharp learning curve because it gets in-depth. The book includes PHP coding but I found that to be very hard to understand. "MySQL & PHP from Scratch" was an awsome partner to this book because it included a great PHP reference which this book lacks, and was plenty to get me programming in PHP. I'm not sure how well the installation guide is because my hosting company set up the database. The book also includes some UNIX and Perl DBI help but again I only bought the book for SQL so could not tell you how well those sections are.

Thanks Adobe! Way to Go - GoLive!

I am an average computer person with little html knowledge and minor web-building experience. I tried my hand at the more well known Dreamweaver program and was confused and dissappointed. I have found the GoLive program instantly approachable and its process easy to understand. I was very happy with Photoshop Classroom in a book as I am with Adobe GoLive CS Classroom in a book. The points discussed by other reviewers makes me wonder if they used the book to learn as I did or are more technical and picking out minor points I did not see. I had NO problems with these lessons - and they flowed nicely from one to the other. My first websites on my own are awesome. As I continue to learn I am blown away by the ease and fun of this program and am thankful for this teaching book. If I can do this well - anyone can too. Try it, You will Like it. Thanks again GoLive and the Adobe Team.

Excellent book for Windows users!

This is an excellent book for users who are not already familiar with Photoshop Elements. Scott Kelby has written a problem/fix oriented book that will help all users, even those who already know Elements, to fix problem photos and make good photos even better.

Title: Video Poker: Optimum Play
Publisher: Conjelco
Authors: Dan Paymar
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Great Video Poker Guide for Beginners and Serious Players

Video Poker - Optimum Play covers everything you need to know about the best game to play in a casino. Dan Paymar covers basic strategy for Jacks-or-Better, Deuces Wild and Joker Poker, and includes quizes for each of these games that will test your knowledge. If you think that you know Video Poker (VP), try taking these quizes before reading the book. You may be very surprised by your score!
The book also contains several tables which give the expected value (EV) for each pre-draw hand for the three games listed above, as well other tables that provide the probability of hitting a royal flush in the different games (or the four deuce mini-jackpot in Deuces Wild) before your bankroll runs out. If you want to count on luck alone, don't look at these tables. However, if you want to use all the knoweldge available to the pros in your recreational play then this book is for you.
The only shortcoming of this book is that it does not cover optimal play rules for Double Bonus Poker, even though this is one of the games the book recommends because of the over 100% possible payback. Given that full-pay Joker Poker machines are becoming scarce, it would be better to spend more of the book on this widely available alternative.
If you are going to use the strategy outlined in the book, it would be worthwhile to invest in the pocket sized strategy cards that Dan Paymar has developed.
Good luck, and draw a Royal for me!
