Title: Final Fantasy VIII Official Strategy Guide
Publisher: Bradygames
Authors: David Cassady
Rating: 3/5
Customer opinion - 3 stars out of 5
Average guide, at least there are no spoilers.

The layout of the book is alright. It's a definite improvement over the FF7 guide, but it could still use a lot of work. My problem with Brady guides in general is that some of the information is flawed or printed where it shouldn't be (you can devour Rinoa for MaxHP +10???), and there are the normal numerous misspellings and sometimes mislabeled maps, and in this guide, they introduce something new: questionable capitalization. It's still a good guide, but I'd only recommend it to people without internet access. There are more detailed informations available at fan sites.

Publisher: Peachpit Press
Authors: Larry Ullman
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5

Due to time constraints, I have to learn PHP in a big hurry, with this book, it's all coming together in my head and from there to the web where I can see the fruits of my labor come to life!

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting (or needing) to learn PHP and MySQL. It's written in a straight forward easy to grasp language and the visuals are superb. This is a must for any web developers library.

Thanks Larry, another GREAT book!

In the age of technology, people still matter.

This is an entertaining as well as insightful book on software productivity. The use of the "programming wars" to provide actual data on the effect of the environment was particularly interesting. It's too bad more software managers don't heed the advice in this book.

Title: Programming in Ada 95 (2nd Edition)
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
Authors: John Barnes
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
A great learning aid.

I learned Ada 83 years ago with the help of an earlier version of this book. I have recently been continuing this pattern with Ada 95. Mr. Barnes does a great job explaining the subject matter, without getting bogged down in minutiae. The code examples and exercises are also quite helpful. I highly recommend this book.
