A Solid Book on DirectX 9

I havent used directx since version 7 and was curious as to some of the new features like HLSL and the effects frame work for a new game that I will be developing. This was an excellent book: clear, concise and mathematically rigorous. The section on the effects framework and HLSL is a solid intro to the subject.

Riddled with errors!!

I was so excited to review this book and am so unbelievably disgusted and saddened. It has so many errors, I am not sure how 3 authors could not have caught them.
I pray that the actually CISSP exam does not have so many errors embedded into it if this is the official study guide.
I am afraid that people who are not security professionals will learn the wrong information if they study this book.

Mark has done it again.

I'm currently an MCSE/MCT and am using the Microsoft Self Study guides to prepare to pass the Win2K exams. But when I want to get a clear, precise explanation of a topic, and go even deeper than just what is needed to know to answer a test question, I crack open Mr. Minasi's book.
Not only is this book well written, but Mark also has an excellent newsletter and answers his readers e-mail questions faster than anyone I have ever dealt with.
Kudos to Mr. Minasi on a job well done.

A Great Book For The Certification And Beyond

Simply put, this is an awesome technical book on the Java programming language that is useful for the certification exam and for any Java programmer. I own at least a dozen java books and this is the best of the bunch.
