an excellent CG Bible ...

I think that this book gives an excellent and in depth review of the CG Animation World. Yes, two chapters are about the history of CG: they will tell you where you come from and make you understand better where you are now. I don't know who this hwilliamsx comes from, and what he is doing in VA, I'm an Animation Supervisor working at Imageworks for the past seven years and I am a Faculty Member at Calarts for three, my personal opinion is that this book is a must have.Third Edition speak by itself. Good work Isaac.

Title: The Mathematica Book, Fifth Edition
Publisher: Wolfram Media
Authors: Stephen Wolfram
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5

Mathematica is a fairly specialized software for working with a broad
range of mathematical equations and graphs. The book is a description
of how to use the software. Stephen Wolfram wrote the software, so the
book is pretty authoritative. I find the book and the software to be
amazing, fantastic, phenomenal, ground-breaking, and all the other
adjectives like those. I'd also throw in artistic, poetic, and
stunningly beautiful. The software does not come with the book - it's
sold separately.... There is a student version available
for significantly less.... The student version is the same
as the professional version, but you have to upgrade to the
professional version after you graduate (but you get a discount on the
upgrade also). There is an electronic copy of the book that is
included with the software, but I find it handy to also have the hard
copy book. I also found the software support people to be outstanding
- helpful, friendly, and supportive.

One word...Outstanding

If you are a developer that has a basic knowledge of SQL Server 2000 or a novice this book is the book for you. Each section is explained so easily you know how to do it with out even testing it out on the software. Very well written! I am only on page 137 and already I have doubled my knowledge about what SQL Server 2000 has to offer.

It got me going

Let me preface my mentioning that I am a professional c,c++,unix,AWK programmer (Not to toot my horn, but to give the reader a point of reference). I stared reading at 10:00, an was writin' some small programs by 11:00. It had a lot of simple, but useful examples (I don't mind if the author uses his/her name in examples, Kind of makes it a little more personal) I have read many BAD computer books. This is not one of those. I was able to learn from this book, and that gives it a BUY IT in my book. (I enjoyed it)
