Jan hits the target with this book

I was sceptical. I no longer am. This book shows you how to get started implementing USB in Windows based programs. Visual Basic may be used on the PC side, and Jan shows examples that do just this. While USB design is usually thought to require C/C++ programming, this isn't necessarily true. Of course, actual design and/or performance requirements may dictate that VB not be used, still it may be a viable way to implement specific USB designs. Jan also shows that USB design involves the firmware that is implemented in the USB hardware itself. She covers these details well.

Well rounded book for the first timer

Being a first time ASP programmer, this book brought me up to speed wonderfully. I found the text to intelligent, well organized, and error free. This book focuses mainly on ASP with VBScript, so if you are looking to use Jscript, Python, or PerlScript, I would recommend searching out another title. From walking the novice user through installing IIS or PWS to cobbling together your first SQL query, this book has proved itself as the best programming reference manual I own.
All in all, it rocks my socks.

The Author Knows His Stuff

Great Book!!! It was extremely readable, very insightful and practical. It is obvious the author has real world experience. By using examples and events in his own career, he brings to light the tactical aspects of demonstrating and selling software. An absolute must read for anyone in the business, especially those of us in Sales. I bought copies for everyone on my staff.

A Good Way to Learn Java

I had taken one Introductory Java course at a local college before reading this book. I wish that I would have read THIS book first! It's easy to understand if you have a 'little' computer experience. It's also laid out well and focuses on some of the more pertinent aspects of Java, for example, applets, which my class did not cover.
