Title: The Linux TCP/IP Stack: Networking for Embedded Systems (Networking Series)

very detailed under the hood type of book

Mr. Herbert has disected the LINUX TCP/IP stack using the source code. In this book he presents what he has discovered. The book goes through a lot of the source code and has good explanations of what it does. It is better than a lot of LINUX books where only the source code is listed with few explanations. The book also discusses the RFC's and how they are implemented in the stack. The source code for the LINUX TCP/IP stack is fairly large. The book does not cover all of it, but it does cover the main paths packets take through the stack. Having read the book, I found it easier to read the LINUX TCP/IP source code myself.

Excellent starter book to servlets and JSP.

The book was excellent. I'm using it to write a number of applications which I was planning on writting in PERL originally, but after learning how easy and powerful servlets are I would never go back.
I especially liked the part that explained how to return back to the client proper error code so that it will ask to re-authenticate the user in a popup. I rely on centralized LDAP authentication with all of our netscape web servers. I wanted to use native server authentication rather then something I would have to write myself. Your examples showed me enough to accomplish this. If you write another edition of the book, I would be interested in seeing more neat tricks like that.

You simply must read this book

It was great to read a "bottom-up" book after having read so many "top-down" books.... I can heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about the *nuts-and-bolts* of things such as the CLR, Framework and the Common Type system.
The book clearly explains what assemblies are, how they are structured, and how they are used by the runtime to enforce strong versioning and allow such things as side-by-side execution of assemblies of the same name.
In short: this book has totally blown my mind!
After you read this book, you will have an abundant understand the *entire* architecture of .NET, including such things as: o Assemblies o Intermediate Language o Common Language Infrastructure o Structure of an Assembly o Various deployment tools including csc.exe, AL.exe, GACUtil.exe, etc.
