Title: Effective Java Programming Language Guide
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
Authors: Joshua Bloch
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Best technical book I've read in years.

I've spent the last few weeks reading one or two of Joshua Bloch's maxims a day, and letting the information settle in over the course of 24 hours. I've alternated between wholehearted agreement with a point, to embarrassment regarding recent and/or repeated violations of one of his excellent rules.
I've been a programmer for 20 years, and a Java programmer for the last 7 years, and I learned a lot from this book. I recommend it highly.

A good reference book for exam

I've just passed 310-035 exam with 88% score, not too low & not too high. I found this book is a must have reference for the exam although you shouldn't rely on this book only to pass the exam. If you want to score high, practice questions in the book definitely are not enough. Do reference to mock exam questions at www.jchq.net & cheat sheet (they call it study guide and only 310-025 version available) at www.itbraindumps.com. Especially questions in www.itbraindumps.com, I found over 10 of them appeared in the exam exactly or in slight variant form.
Back to this book. I found the content about exception, assertion, inner classes are not enough for the exam so I referenced to mentioned site for more details.
Anyway, what this book told me the most was this exam is very tricky (although I thought it not difficult) and you must paid attention to every detail (e.g. each line of code, each question sentence) to avoid careless mistake.

College Level Stuff

For a college kid who was taught the top layer "Frosting" of ASP.NET in school this book helped me dig into the cake. It has everything I need for my internship, a great help in every area for any kind of beginner. I would highly recommend purchasing this book, I think the high point is the majority of the coding was in VB which is very useful.

The best one for beginners

I purchased the text in order to gain some insight into a subject I knew very little about. The book is extremely well organized and the topics are fully explained. There's a mix of history included with the technical explanations that makes this book very enjoyable reading. If your goal is to develop a clear understanding of the foundations of cryptography, look no further.
