Pretty good but.....

This is a pretty good study resource, but using this alone will not help you get that very much desired certification.
If you really want to pass this exam I recommend that you at the least have 2 PC networked together one with 2000 Server/NT workstation dual-boot and the other one with 2000 Server/2000 Professional dual-boot. That way you can really test thing like replication, RIS, sites and so forth.
Also it is a good move to get the Windows 2000 Resource kit (also available on Amazon), it will help you allot with preparing for the exam and help you in *the real world*.
If you still got cash spare it might be an idea to invest in VMware so you can run multiple OS's on your machine at the same time, allowing you to test NAT, subnetting and the like.
Good Luck on becoming an MCSE!

An excellent reference book

A great reference book that makes it easy to follow the Windows interface standards. Microsoft has come a long way with their user interfaces, and this book lets you learn from their efforts.

Title: Art of Computer Programming, Volume 1: Fundamental Algorithms (3rd Edition)

The ultimate guide to algorithms, a classic

Probably the best book ever written on the subject of function based computing algorithms. Pretty though math sometimes, that's why I won't give it a '10', but still possible to read for people who don't have a university math degree (I don't). Explains a lot of algorithms and common data-structures and ways to figure out which method is the most efficient. A must for any programmer who wants more than just the standard programming cookbooks. Check out volume 2 and 3 too, and wait patiently for D. Knuth to finnish the last 4(?) volumes. The whole series should be finnished by the year 2005, I've that from the author himself.

Title: Microsoft ADO.NET Step by Step

Excellent book

With the help of this book I was able to get to know most of the .NET design environment. It also helped me to connect windows and web forms to databases. This book may not help you to master ADO.NET but is an excellent resource to begin with ADO.NET. I did not have problems with the examples (I used only C#) and most of the examples worked for me.
