Must have for new designers

Dr. Allen is a champion of learner-centric design - and has written a refreshingly reader-centric book about the topic. He understands that learning is an "internal, personal, and ultimately individual act." His words reveal his passions and opinions in such an authentic manner that you can quickly understand his perspective, and extract points of meaning that can directly apply to your work. As a producer and designer of interactive media, I continually find his insights an inspiration.

To basic and not enough practical guidance

This book was clearly for beginners only. Although the book says "for dummies", you'd really HAVE to be a dummy to get much out of this. The book is simply too vague when talking about important internet concepts and doen't show you how to REALLY get an online business going. I personally would reccomend 33 Days to Profits by Yank Silver www.33daystoprofits.com as a much better way to get PRACTICAL advice on starting an online business.

I Agree - Excellent Reference Book

Especially I like the index - she lists each tag with corresponding sub-tags, eg. the <table> lists all of the attributes which would fall within this tag. I am using this all the time for reference as I pursue html for web design. My wife's cousin recommended this book, and it was a great call.

Excellant work

This book should be always next to us. So far twice I read this book. Each time I found new things. Particularly Design Time Integration. No one has touched this subject so elegantly. Even though there were some articles in MSDN. Once I wrote to Chris Sells asking him to write exclusively on Custom Control. He has satisfied my wish through this book.
Another topic that I should mention is Resources. This explains from basics to in-depth.
