Even a technophobe can use this book.

I recently purchased Dreamweaver MX and found that I could not use it at all. I puchased this book based upon a recommendation from a friend. Now, less than a month later, I have a basic website up and running. If you want to see what this book helped me do, go to, "www.MrGustafson.com" I highly recommend this book. Do not waste your money on any others.

Good for beginners

For a long time i have been messing around with recording on a 4-track and my pc but getting bad results, but having no idea why, or what i need to do or buy to get some quality recordings. So i bought this book and it has opened up a whole world of home digital recording to me that i never had any way of accessing before. i now feel like i could confidently walk into a shop and buy the things i need and know exactly what im talking about, and know exactly what im looking for. If you want to get into home recording and dont know where to start, just buy this book, its all you need. I cant comment on whether more experienced musical technicians would find it insteresting as well, but im sure it would make a good reference book for them.what are you waiting for?

Title: The Adobe Illustrator CS Wow! Book (Wow!)
Publisher: Peachpit Press

This Book is Not for Novices -- Too Complicated

I am an Adobe Certified Photoshop user and member of the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals - http://www.photoshopuser.com) and a self-taught designer. So, I pick up things pretty quickly. However, I am a novice when it comes to Illustrator. This book is HORRIBLE for beginners. The complete lack of detail for the lessons is terrible. The author should stick to design and forget about teaching and writing books. It is difficult to find quality Illustrator CS books and this is definately not one of them. Stick to the Adobe Classroom in a Book series - even though their Illustrator CS books has some errors to it. I gave this book 2 stars only because it has great art in it. It was not for the quality of the lessons. This book sucks.

Superb, well written and illustrated

I went to the local bookstore scanning for flash books, found this gem and picked it up instead (at full price aagh should've ordered here sigh) ..
What's good:Excellent full color pages with carefully written, detailed pros and cons of 50 various homepages.
How it's better than other usability texts:I scanned through 12 others, they were all in plain text, not engaging, and not much in the way of examples.
This book is superb, has a lot to learn from, even for a veteran web designer like myself. I'm sure the reviews will help me improve my sites' designs and clarity.
Nice work, a webmaster "must have" .. imho.
