This is a great book.

I found MG exceedingly readable, and particularly useful. The ideas are very well explained, and the problems are solved in a stepwise fashion, leading from a simple, inefficient solution to a problem to a more complex, efficient one. Where appropriate, pseudocode is included to communicate the algorithms unambiguously. I use the free MG software in my research on information retrieval, and this book is an indispensible supplement to the software. The ideas on compression and efficiency described in the book and implemented in the software are the best that I know of in the public domain, and I've looked!

O'Reilly should hire this guy for big $$$

This guy is a true Game Programmer Guru. He is also very clear with his words and code. I don't think there is any other Java Game Programming book that comes even close to this one. The book makes complex topics like multi-player games over the Internet look simple !!! "Let's make a framework for a game server using NIO." Wow !!! If you want to show us that, so let's do it. I don't trust any other book that is not from O'Reilly, but this one is a CLASSIC. O'Reilly should hire this guy to write more game programming books for them.

Another nutshell of a reference

This is a great reference book for any and all ASP developers. I was first introduced to the Nutshell series when I was taking a Java course and the instructor handed out the Java in a nutshell book. I loved it so much that I decided to buy the ASP in a nutshell.
I for one hate reading stuff online, and being a application developer I really hate surfing the web, especially Microsoft MSDN site, having to finger my way through all the links.
A great reference book that is already in being put to good use by the other developers on the project. I have to hide it sometimes just so I can refer to it when I need to. "GET YOUR OWN!"
