Fantastic Walkthrough - New to J2EE, but need to know Java

I found this book to be a wonderful resource and walked through the book from cover to cover. I had previously been focused on fat-client Swing development and so had very little J2EE experience. This book did a wonderful job of bringing me up to speed on the latest J2EE spec implementations (Servlets 2.3, JSP 1.2 and EJB 2.0). I am following this up with some Struts specific JSP resources and found that this book prepared me well for making that leap. Well done, New Riders! Keep the solid Java development texts coming!

Thank you

Thank you for your kind reviews. I hope you have as much fun working with SQL Server as I do. If you're a SQL Server DBA, developer, or architect, I have two suggestions;

First, join your local Profession Association for SQL Server (SQLPASS.org) chapter. The SQL Server community is a growing and positive group.

Second, after you've read my book, continue learning. I highly recommend these books:

* Inside SQL Server by Kalen Delany
* Advanced Transact-SQL by Itzik Ben-Gan & Tom Moreau
* Hitchhiker's Guide to Reporting Services by Bill Vaughn
* Microsoft SQL Server 2005 New Features by Michael Otey

It's critical that the book is accurate and the errata page on the book's website (www.sqlserverbible.com) keeps everyone honest. There are a handfull known errors: 4 screen shots mis-captioned, 1 screen shot mis-cropped, 1 table with transposed cells, and 1 mis-wording. If you discover any other errors please write to me.

I hope to meet you at a SQL PASS Summit.

may all your queries run swift and true,
-Paul Nielsen, SQL Server MVP

p.s. I would have preferred to not rate my own book, but the Rating column has a NOT NULL constraint.

Title: The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers
Publisher: New Riders Press
Authors: Scott Kelby
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
The BEST Photoshop book I've EVER seen!!

Well written, and the best part, EASY TO FOLLOW!!! I've read a lot of photoshop books (Photoshop Bible series) that are hundreds of pages long and not easy to follow. This book is amazing. Step by step, almost keystroke by keystroke, and that's what I need! I don't want to know WHY photoshop does what it does, I just want to know HOW to do it!! Great job Scott Kelby!! His Down and Dirty Tricks book is a MUST HAVE as well!!!!
