Title: RF Microelectronics
Publisher: Prentice Hall PTR
Authors: Behzad Razavi
Rating: 2/5
Customer opinion - 2 stars out of 5

I have read razavi's other books and those are really good (and he is a great teacher himself), however, i ended up disappointed picking this book up.

I have read many rf books and I need to say that rf is a hard subject to write on, but occasionally, there is a few good books. There are books that try to blast you with a lot of circuits, then try to explain what is going on without the math. However, they end up confusing the readers because everything seem so "magical" without explaining the concepts behind it. And there are books that give you a lot of hard-to-follow proves, and bore the readers with them. In the end, the readers do not learn much practical.

This book is leaning towards the former catagory.

Maybe I am new to the subject, but I found Modern communication circuits by smith useful. Instead of telling you all kinds of mixer for example, it gives you a few and explain them in details how and why they work with detailed math. And it is about just right, not to bore you too much

One more thing: don't take these review too seriously. Different people have different opinions about books. You should sit down in the library (I got it from library) and read a chapter or two before you buy it.

This book is great teaching tool and time saver. I've been using Macromedia Flash since Flash 3 and this book has the most useful examples that I've seen.

One more happy dummy learning photoshop !!

I found this book very helpful for me. First of all, I gladly recognized myself as a dummy in photoshop and a far-from-expert PC user. I find in this book a lot of helpful tips and explanations in a very light, simple, direct style.
Remember that the " ... for dummies" series are written in a funny and easy to read way. If you're the kind of guy who loves deep technical academical explanations and don't like to be teached in a funny style, then maybe you need another kind of book for "begginers".
Thanks to this book I now can jump to more complex themes on photoshop! Mission acomplished.

Good book for the beginning Webmaster

This book is extremely good for anyone who is intrested in becoming a webmaster! However, I do recommend you have a strong knowledge of HTML, and a little bit of knowledge on MS Access or MS Sql. You can still understand the book and learn alot from it if you don't already know these, but it gets kind of confusing when you're trying to learn 4 or 5 languages! The book teaches you everything you need to know about programming in ASP, it will also teach you VBScript.
Minimum requirements for this book: Windows 2000 Pro, MS Access and/or SQL 7.0+
Recommended requirements for this book: MS Interdev 6.0, SQL 7.0+
If you don't have ANY of the above, I would not recommend buying this book.
Bottom line: Great book, some typo's, knowledge of web environment recommended before purchase
