Might not be the best book for beginners

I ordered Photoshop 7 Savvy because I wanted to get deep with Photoshop. While I consider myself a novice user, I have done enough work with the program to make basic manuals redundant. This book fits the bill nicely. It covers some basics and it gets more advanced as number of chapters increase. I would have given it 5 stars except for the many typos I've found. Many of the keyboard shortcuts are simply wrong and will confuse, or worse discourage, someone who is new to photoshop.

Help pages online - not a guide!

I agree with the guy who said it's not a guide. Don't buy if you are confused by Quickbooks interface and plan to learn how to use it properly from financial point of view. To get the guide, simply print out the help pages.

Title: eBay for Dummies, Fourth Edition

Great book - Missed one critical tool

This book is very well written and will give you a lot of instruction on how to use eBay that will save you lots of time. To find out how to sell products on eBay I would recommend Marsha's other book Starting an eBay business for Dummies in addition to this one. I recently became a millionaire buying and selling on eBay in my spare time in addition to my academic work and I can tell you its not that hard. You do have to know the secrets though and this book includes a lot but left out the biggest one. There is a software tool called www.powersnipe.com. eBay auctions are often lost in the last few seconds of the auction because the majority of people wait until the last seconds to place their bids. This tool bids for you at the last second and ensures you win, a big time saver and the biggest key to success.

Title: J2EE Web Services

Good introductory book on web services

This book disappointed me as it failed to meet my expectations. If compare this book to the author's EJB book then you will be disappointed like me as well. This book explained the basics of Web services and its J2EE examples. Although the content and examples are well paced at the end all I found is this book lacks a real world architecture and implementation strategies. Like me, many reviewers told the same as this book does'nt cover much more than the J2EE 1.4 tutorial in aspects of Web services. I felt like I lost my grasp of Java examples at the end as the book did'nt finish how to put all the APIs together.
