Title: eBay Secrets : How to create Internet auction listings that make 30% more money while selling every item you list
Authors: Steven Ellis White, Bryon Krug
Rating: 3/5
Customer opinion - 3 stars out of 5
Good for beginners, not so much for Powersellers

I learned very little from this book, and some of the material is over-simplified. The "Bid Multiplier Method" works better for some items than others -- for example, some rarer items such as books that have limited appeal but are still hard to find will not sell for top dollar using this method -- if you only have one or two potential bidders your item will not skyrocket. Also, ebay is different that it used to be -- people are savvy to high shipping charges, especially on cheaper items, and ebay now can calculate shipping charges based on ZIP, which is not mentioned here. There is no mention of using search items inside the deciption for more experienced buyers. That being said, this is a great primer for beginners -- it will tell you how to avoid a lot of the mistakes that novices make and it will also give you some useful tips. Worth the money if you're new to selling -- especially if you just want to sell your own personal items -- but if you're already a sucessful business seller I'd give it a pass.

Title: Professional Photoshop: The Classic Guide to Color Correction
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Dan Margulis
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Outstanding Book by Photoshop Hall of Famer

Continuing the advanced techniques of his prior books, all a treasure.
Don't understand the cons mentioned in other reviews here. Professional Photoshop certainly explains methods and advantages of all color modes including but certainly not limited to CMYK. Groundbreaking techniques introduced and explained in an easy to understand lighthearted manner.
Many images in book available on accompaning CD, to work along with author.
The book is certainly user friendly, is a must read you will visit many times. "The" book for Pre Press Retouchers and or Photographers who want the best of Color Correction - Image Manipulation, period !

Title: A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, 4th Edition
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media
Authors: Michael Meyers
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
The only A+ book you'll need to pass the exam.

This is the one to get. Don't bother getting any other books. In the end I used this book alone (didn't use any other practice exams except the ones included with the book/CD). I took both tests back to back the same morning and passed.
I did purchase another book to use as well, A+ Certification for Dummies. However, I stopped after reading the first 2 chapters because I realized that the A+ Dummies book was a joke (I had already started reading Mr. Meyers book so I knew what I was missing). Unless you've had a good deal of previous knowledge/experience with the subjects covered on the exam, it would be very difficult to pass the A+ exam using just the Dummies book. It is just way too incomplete.
Kudos to Michael Meyers!!!

Title: Creating Striking Graphics with Maya and Photoshop

Not happy

I really thought this book would show techniques in using both programs. There is pretty much only two tutorials (Chapter 2 and 3) throughout the book. The rest of the 8 chapters shows case studies and gives long bios of the people that created the work. If you are looking to really learn hands on techniques this is not the book. The CD is horrible, there are only two chapter folders that have scene files. The CD also contains a corny little quicktime movie of Alanis Morisette's video. Get the book used if you must have it.
