book is Not that good

Mark Minasi has produced another gem. When I received it I was a little dissapointed that it didn't have the CD (far easier to carry around when travelling). As usual Mark has covered almost everything and I'm sure he will cover anything that is different from RC2 in following editions. There are valuable tips through the book which I found very useful. It's good to know that authors like Mark are around to do the hard yards for us mere mortals. This book is a must have and is a valuable tool in my collection.

Definitely a Database Starter's companion

As a complete layman in the subject, I can confirm that this book is a good Guide to learn this application. Unfortunately it teaches little on the Foundations of Database Programming, and many of its examples have to be followed closely along with a Database Starter Manual. Complete Examples enlighten the reader advancing through each of its features. There is little reference to VBA, for which it cannot be judged.I gave it four out of five because of its Huge size, that makes reading a bit unconfortable at times. Definitely worth the price.

Good Book but Confusing at Times

Using this book as the text in a second year Comp Sci class. Book contains plenty of usefull information but the topics seem to be presented out of order. Many times I have had to read several chapters ahead to get the information I need to complete programming assignments. While studying a chapter topics in that chapter are not really clear until until later chapters are read. The software that came with the book is also very difficult to install without special trips to the authors website.
