Pleasant Surprise

This second edition was a pleasant surprise. I have the first edition, and was upset about the lack of DOM and SAX coverage. I paged through the second edition... and bought it on the strength of two new chapters, Advanced SAX and Advanced DOM. I'm very pleased - it has coverage of SAX writers, and som DOM modules I'd never used before (I'm now using DOM traversal in a new product). This was much better than the first edition, and was a significant improvement. Highly recommended (although I wouldn't bother if you can only get the first edition).

Deserves the awards it has won!

This book is the best book I've purchased on the subject of .Net. I've been using .Net since the pre-release version and have a few books sitting on my shelf, but none of them are as indepth as this book. Troelson did a fantantic job making the chapters easy to read and full of detail at the same time. His examples cover what they need to cover and do not waste your time with uneeded, off-topic lines of code. I have never learned some much from one book as I did by reading this one.

A superb book.

In section 3.5, David Pogue writes "In some ways, just buying a Macintosh was a renegade act of self-expression...", I believe it says it all! :)
David really knows what he's talking about. I've tried almost every tip/trick/gem he gives in this superb book and it worked. The missing manual is great book for a stunning operating system and a fantastic computer.
This book is highly recommended for folkes who are really interested in knowing how to work with Mac OSX. Worth the $.

Cheers.

Great resource manual

This book covers all the topics in detail that you would normally have to search for on MS Knowledge base. Some of the chapters are not of concern for a smaller business, but for large scale applications it covers all of it.
