If you're serious about Python, you want this book

I'm working on a Python project at the moment and have looked at the Python books currently available including Python Developer's Handbook, Programming Python Second Edition, etc. Most of them have added Python 2.1 features as an appendix or afterthought comment. The second edition of Python Essential Reference has done a beautiful job of incorporating 2.1 language features throughout the text. This is the Python book that I keep with me and refer to at least 10 times daily. This book is perfectly organized and has all the information you'll need. I love this book.

Complete course in a book-a great value

This is a complete (at 800 pages, I do mean complete) introduction to 3ds max 7 that doesn't assume you know it all. The tutorials walk you through the all the steps painlessly, and it's loaded with clear screenshots so you know what to do what and when. The steps are all clearly integrated with the CD.

I haven't made it to anywhere near the end yet, but by the time I do I think I'll be at a solid intermediate level.

If you are looking for coverage on the features of Visual Studio.NET, this isn't the book to get.
However, if you want to learn about Windows Forms programming, this book is your last stop.
Get it, because it's excellent.

it is 100% about C++

I have many books on C++ and most of them are 90% on C and at most 10% on C++. This is a book about C++! Though I would agree with another reviewer that it is not a real "primer". It is a book for people who have a programming background. Other than that this is an EXCELLENT book.
