Title: Exceptional C++: 47 Engineering Puzzles, Programming Problems, and Solutions
Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
Authors: Herb Sutter
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
More Than You Should Have To Know About C++

Unfortunately, the power of C++ comes with complexity, and the language has more than its share of dark corners. This outstanding book takes an in-depth look at some of them and belongs on the bookshelf of every advanced C++ programmer. I consider myself a C++ expert, yet I was surprised on page after page.
Nobody should have to know that that much about C++, but the nature of the language is that - at least as an advanced programmer - you *have* to know, and that's why this book is indespensable.

Too big for exam preperation

A+ certification book from Michael Meyers is an excellent book. The book explains everything about PC and it also talks about the A+ certification exams. I find this book very detail, simple to follow and easy to understand and I would consider it as a great investment in my future.

Title: TOAD Pocket Reference for Oracle
Publisher: O'Reilly
Authors: Jim McDaniel, Patrick McGrath
Rating: 4/5
Customer opinion - 4 stars out of 5
Boy I did not know that TOAD can do so much

I used TOAD during my work every now and than. I especially liked the Schema Brower. In this book I learned about the other features of TOAD that I did not use before. I will probably start to use some of these features in the future.
I like books that teach me new things and help me be more productive in my work. This is definitely one of those book.
It might be unfair that I only give 4 stars but I would have liked this book to be longer and with some examples. This is of course not possible in a pocket reference.
I can really recommend this book to the normal TOAD user. Maybe this is superfluous for the advanced TOAD user.

Much better than the 1st edition!

This 2nd edition works on the final release of .NET and they've played about with the structure a fair bit. Some of the overlap at the beginning is gone and there are 4 new chapters - remoting, data binding, networking, and windows services. An excellent book!
