Shocked....So good..best book EVA!!!

Its almost 7 years since I first started referring to Charles Petzold's classic book (for Native Win32 SDK). Even though I now use much varied tools and manage different development environments, this book still is as precious a resource.
1. Very simple language2. Productive examples3. Broad scope (mdi, dlls, internet programming etc)
Hope you find it as useful too!

Only 2 words Play Online..................its sad

Okay first of all. This book keeps forcing you over and over to go online. Just about every 5 pages it says check out play online. Even all the secrets are at Play Online, and all the important stuff is at that website. Even the maps. Even the Bestiary is bad. This guide is a waste of money. With them always saying Check out play online.com for more info. Why was this guide made? There FFVIII guide was much better put together. When will Bradygames realize that not everyone has a computer or that not everyone has internet conection. You probably won't even need it. Take my advice and don't get this guide. It only ends up leading you to a website. Unless you want to be going to your computer every 10 minutes this guide is no help. All the secrets, side quest, boss strategies, maps, and even abilities is found at Play Online. Don't bother with this guide at all.

All I had to say is I love it ...... I love the book

Cuurently I am a freshman computer science student at Lamar University here in Beaumont. And I always wanted to learn Visual Basic and in high school they didn't teach VB, but in college as computer science student you don't have a choice, in other words you have to take this class I should say 3 or 5 of these classes. So I started my first semister in August 98 and took a VB class, I found VB quite easy to use programming language. DO YOU KNOW WHY I FOUND VB EASY ? because I bought this book at the first day of my class and this book is the only thing you need if you are a beginner. This Book has sample programs and author teaches new stuff by the help of those programs. I found SBSVB6.0 very useful book and I am ready to sugest it to any beginner of VB. and yeah I also bought a visual basic book name VISUAL BASIC 6 HOW-TO and that book didn't help alot. it was just waste of money. BUT I am 100% sure if you realy want to learn Visual Basic and go on Go get Microsoft Visual basic step by step6. I am 100% sure..... if you want to know more about Visual Basic books you can E-mail me I will be glad to help you out.

Love your work

Without the benefit of experience, animation can be a hit-and-miss affair for even the most talented artists. This book goes a long way to show the CORRECT way to make a movie, not only for animation and not only for Flash, but these concepts could be applied to any film-making medium.
Finally got my copy in the mail today. I'm a full-time animator myself and I have great respect for the work of the authors Glenn and Kevin. This book is something I've been looking forward to for months now, and having flicked through it all day, I'm not a bit disappointed. Many laughs.. the occasional tear.. learned a [lot]. I'll be sure to mention you guys on Oscar night. I love my new book.
Friends of ED, well done on getting these guys on board. More from them please!!
