Excellent book for web designers without a formal background

Even in the post dot con bubble, this is still a great practical introduction to systems analysis for websites. The forms and case studies are especially helpful for people who haven't had formal training in software or systems engineering.

NOT PRACTICAL

Arcane and incomplete examples. A book is supposed to teach you not show you half of the solution. Definitely not for the beginner programmer. Arcaic and convulted examples. Not very realistic!!! Granted, C++ is not supposed to be easy but some of us have lifes and can't devote our life to C++...

Best MFC book around, again!

This new version is just as great (maybe even better) than the previous edition. This new edition includes some good intro material on COM as well. If you are interested in programming Windows using MFC this will give you all the basic knowledge to get started. Prosise's writing style is very easy to understand for the novice and provides information that will teach the intermediate Windows programmer a thing or two.

Absolutely Amazing

If there was more than five stars available this book would get them! This book starts off with basic substitution and caesar shift ciphers and works its way up to PGP and even has a section on quantum cryptography. Perfect for beginners or experts in the field of cryptography, this book is an absolute gold mine! It's worth the price alone for all the historical facts you get from it also.
