Earnest Enthusiasm and Elfish Delight

*QED* is an edited version of four lectures delivered to a lay audience at UCLA in 1983. It conveys Feynman's unique combination of earnest enthusiasm and elfish delight at the fact that "the way we have to describe Nature is generally incomprehensible to us." (p. 77) It is probably true that the book can be profitably read by every class of reader, from Feynman's physicist peers to street people (if this is not the contemporary equivalent of "the man in the street," why isn't it??) who have never studied physics. Feynman was a great communicator, and knew how to throw out a lifeline of wit, reason, or good sense in the midst of the most bewildering complexities. Twenty-first century humanity urgently needs to integrate something of the quantum view of reality into its common understanding of things, and Feynman's work is a precious contribution toward that end. Highly recommended!

Informative but not lucid

Its a good book for starters and people getting to know the subject of wcdma and umts. But, the language is very bland and looks more of an ieee paper. Recommended for people who are indireclty associated with umts or similar products.

Title: Oracle Database 10g: The Complete Reference (Osborne ORACLE Press Series)
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media

10g is out, you need the new book.

The title says it all. Well there's one additional tidbit of information that's important, there are 1200 pages in this book. In 1200 pages you can include a lot of things. You can include 300 pages on SQL for instance. And some of the new subjects like the new sections on The Grid (that's the g in 10g) are covered here for the first time.

The Grid is coming, as of yet it's just getting started, but in the next edition of this book it'll be a hundred pages, if it isn't a whole book in itself.

As an Oracle professional, at almost any level from developing an application, to tuning the performance, to security, to 'simple' things like installation, this is the one book you need to have on your desk ready for immediate use.

After this, it's kind of hard to say much about this book. You may want individual books on tuning or security or whatever if that is your primarily responsibility, but here in one volume is the basic for the whole thing.
