Title could be "50 Ways to be Nice to Co-Developers"

Well written C++ books are rare to start with, this is an example of a more rare and more precious thing, a well written practical C++ book for software engineers.I strongly recommend this book to any developer I work with as basic self-defence. Not only does it give marvelous design and coding advice, but it explains the basis of each guideline and how and when to apply them

This is THE book for learning C++ programming.

First thing I noticed was code examples. I cannot tell you how much easier this will make it for novice programmers to have the color coding. It makes deciphering [what I'm sure for them is alien text] so much easier. Next, the focus on Object Orientation at the end of each chapter is a crucial element most other titles leave out. Most C++ books teach you the syntax, but not the design procedure. This is akin to being taught how to make a brick, but not how to build a house. The information here is presented in a clear, systematic fashion. There is some C coding presented, but this is not made the focus of the text. Last, but certainly not least, the freebie Visual Studio is a nice touch, since this is such a popular compiler, get familiar w/ its enviornment, and some of the other cooler features it offers.

The Strunk and White for C programmers

This book, while not for beginners, is a clearly written, excellent reference for programmers. It is either for programmers who are familiar with other languages or who already know C and need a place to look to answer specific questions.
I've been programming in C for 10 years and have kept this book nearby on any C project that I've been on since then. I just finished a project recently and found that I reference the book at least on a daily basis.
This book is the definition of C and the exact behaviour of the language. There is no substitute for this book, although there are many suppliments that are platform specific. If you want to write C programs, buy this book.
