Good but not solid one

I think this book is practically the bible for anyone looking into designing radios. Using the material covered in this book, I've built three functioning transcievers. I started as a amateur, knowing the rock-bottom basics of circuit design, and steadily built increasingly more complex prototypes, until I worked up to a 50 watt transciever operating on 3.80512 GHz.

A MUST have for ASP Developers!

this book is an excellent reference for any advanced ASP developer. it covers the basics like any other book (objects such as response, requset etc..) but it also covers many of the new features win2000 and AD can offer such as ADSI.
one of the best aspects in the book is the two versions for each example, one in VBScript and one in Jsctipt. most books will show you VBS only syntax.
a must on every ASP developer's bookshelf.

Disappointed

When I purchase a book I look at all features offered with the book. E.g., if a book comes with a Learning CD I expect that cd to work with the product for which it was written. The CD that comes with this book requires QuickTime (Apple App) intead of MS Media player. This does'nt make sense. That is why I rate this pruchase with a lowly 2.

No other book on XSLT is as good

There is no better book on XSLT. No matter if you want to learn XSLT from scratch, or have a long-term reference for the XSLT syntax. This book is the bible for XSLT users. The original book covered the 1.0 standard. This book extends that to support both 1.0 and 2.0 in the same book.

There are two large pieces to the book. The first piece covers the basics of XSLT, with a tag-by-tag reference to the language, as well as XPath in the same manner. Both of these start with introductions that make it easy for novices to pick up the language. The second piece covers design patterns for templates then brings the whole work together into case study sections.

XSLT is an invaluable tool for anyone who works with XML. Once you understand it you will never want to be without it. This book is the best way to learn XSLT, and the best reference for those who already know XSLT. Period.
