A very good book about Dynamic HTML

I bought this book based on the reviews from other readers. That means I had a great expectation to this book, and it didn't disappoint me at all. The examples are also working in the real world. The only thing tha I miss from this book is a CD-ROM!. As many other software developer I am lazy to type the HTML-code to try how it works. It will be good if the book provides all the code and some web browsers in a CD-ROM.

Can you expect this from Microsoft? i guess yes..

I bought this book and was so happy that the accompanied CD contains eBook. I was glad because then i can travel without carrying 5lb book and read the book using the ebook.Listen to this. I was disappointed when i opened the CD and launch the eBook setup.exe to install that. A message poped up on my screen saying that "setup.exe is 16bit application and you can not run it".This is MS..why would you send 16bit application with MFC book.Who is running Windows 3.11 in this time? and if someone is then what is he doing with MFC book..:-)Can't get eBook at all.

Title: Essential PHP Tools: Modules, Extensions, and Accelerators
Publisher: Apress

Helpful but not comprehensive

This book does alert you to many useful modues, extensions and accelerators and given that many of these are open source and their documentation can be skimpy, it's good to have examples and documentation from another source.

However, this book is not comprehensive in it's coverage of said modules, extensions and accelerators and in areas where it covers material already explained in the documentation, I preferred the original documentation's style and explanations. The book does mention things that the original documention does not, but the original documentation talks about things that the book does not.

In short, I had to read both the documentation and the book to fully understand the code.

WONDERFUL!

I have never written a review before because frankly no computer book I have read has been worth it. This book is different.
This book is actually fun to read and isn't boring like most computer books. It takes hard-to-understand/abstract concepts and breaks them down into a format that is easy and intuitive.
If you are looking for a fun and easy-to-understand book to quickly get up-to-speed on JAVA. This is the book for you!
