Title: Excel 2002 Power Programming with VBA
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: John Walkenbach
Rating: 4/5
Customer opinion - 4 stars out of 5
A well written book

I went over this book twice. Although I believe I understood most of it, I am not yet a power programmer. This book is an intermediate book on Excel programming. Don't expect to become an expert from it. The book is very well written and John Walkenbach writes in a way that no other programmer does. The book stimulates the interest of the reader into Excel. The examples are well explained. I did not give this book five stars because the Windows API is not explained in depth.According to me the path of the books to Excel programming is:1 Excel The Bible( the second half of the book)2 Excel for Power Programmers3 Excel 2002 VBA Programmer's referenceThe last book in the list is not for inexperienced programmers and is not as pleasant to read( So do not start with it).I also recommen Excel 2002 formulas if the would be programmer does not have an extensive experience in Excel

Title: Programming Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
Publisher: Microsoft Press
Authors: Francesco Balena
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Top Notch VB Book -- Get it !!

Balena has done a great service by writing this book. His explanation is clear, concise and very few authors can write the way he does---complicating things brought to down-to-earth level. This book is both great for programmers trying to learn VB for the first time and also for experienced programmers. He explains how and why things should be done in certain ways... and I greatly appreciate that... which enables me to understand VB better. Experienced programmers can also learn as there are simple things that they may have overlooked; easier ways to perform certain tasks than one would imagine. Well-written. To me, this book is a good investment.

Title: Java Servlet Programming, 2nd Edition
Publisher: O'Reilly
Authors: Jason Hunter
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
This book IS available and IS great!

Would someone please remove the review that casts a suspicious cloud on this excellent book? This book is both very clear for the beginner and detailed enough for the old pro. The author even hangs out on the servlet interest mailing list and answers questions. There are examples for real-world issues like DB connection pooling and applet to servlet communication. If everyone on the servlet interest mailing list would read this book first the traffic would be cut in half at least. (Can you guess that I like it?)
