The Most Incredible Book Ever Written For PC Enthusiasts!!!

Ron White really did a good job on writing the millenium edition book of "How Computers Work". The book starts off with the history of computers, and even includes a section on the Internet. I'm one of those people that is totally into Technology, and I'm really impressed by this book. I was happy to see two pages about how palm PC's work, because I own one, and always wondered how they work. Computers are starting to play a more & more important part in the world today. I really suggest anyone who has used a computer before to read it. I got interested in this book when I started wondering: "Man, these machines can do so much, just how complex are their insides???" So, I think you should all read this book if you are into computer or want to just learn how they work.

He's the Man

Well, I think Andre is a wonderfull person. He is not only a very smart person but he's also got a nice personality. He's humble and that's what I like. All his books do well because he takes his time to go through everything in true detail. He's a good friend too, I remember he was willing to take 45 mins of his time to help me get Texture Mapping working right. I think his books should sell more so he could continue writing good books like these. I hope the 2nd part of this book comes out soon because I can hardly wait for the more information that I will obtain from reading his texts.

Mac-like Approach to Learning

Anytime someone can make learning how to make software and hardware interesting and fun its worth a read.

After purchasing an iPod and struggling to make it do what I knew it was supposed to do, I scoured the book stores for a book that would show me the way. I found Kirk's fun and intuitive approach (very Mac-like) to be perfect. As a long time Apple user, and often times under utilizer of software (because I hate to read manuals). It was refreshing to find someone that gets it, and writes a book for those of us that need a little humor with our how-to. Check out is webpage too.

Another added plus... I e-mailed Kirk for a little extra help, and to my amazement he responded, timely too. With the many iPod and iTune books out there, this is one to be by your side while the others stay in the store.

Good book that goes beyond the exam.

CompTIA has updated the exam for the A+ Certification once again. And once again you are going to have to find a resource that can give you what you need to pass the exam first time. Once again is it time to take a serious look at Chris Crayton's latest release for the help you need.
In a little over 850 pages there is more than enough information to give you a great chance of passing both the A+ exams. Crayton's knowledge of the subject matter are second to no one and this release is also a technicians dream book as it is packed with troubleshooting and repair information.
The book take on both the hardware and the core exams and [resents that material in a manner that would allow any skill level to grasp and understand what is being presented. I like the organization of the book and how the review is spaced out rather than crammed into each chapter.
The book has a cd with over 300 practice questions and this may be a little short as compared to some of the other manual out there. This problem can be fixed in future updates or a link on the website to download more questions.
Overall this is a very good place to start and if think you are ready than this might and should be the final prep tool.
