Beginners be careful...

What really annoyed me was that the book does not state that you need to be on a R/3 system to actually do any ABAP/4 coding exercises, although you can run the screen cams from the CD. However, any technical person will tell you nothing beats "hands-on" practice. Having said that, the book is a good starting point.

A LUCID DISCUSSION OF THE TOPICS

This is an excellent book that is well worth the price. It covers the major topics involving servlets and jsp's, with excellent examples to illustrate the concepts that the author is trying to establish. It has an excellect build up to complex topics, so a novice can pick this book up, and after careful study, can find him/herself with a solid foundation of the topics, and feel comfortable tackling complex projects. This book however, is not intended for the novice programmer. I recommend this book to those who are extremely comfortable with the Java programming language, and with HTML. Once you have those skills down, this book should be a very comfortable read. What is also impressive about this book is that it covers the fundamental concepts involving Servlets, and JSP's. Thus, after one studies this book, the reader may readily apply the concepts and tools learned from this book immediately into the industry. A well-written book whose availability could not have been better.

Little help for login scripts

Everyone of these script examples start out with the ADsPath of the object to be queried or changed. No mention that I can find of how to come up with the ADsPath in the first place.
Thanks for nothing MS!
