Title: Crystal Reports 8.5: The Complete Reference
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media

Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
I'm a beginner, I like this book

As a beginner, I have found this book to be very useful and it quickly has gotten me to the point that I need to be at. I can't confirm or deny that this is a complete reference, but I will say that if you're not comfortable with using Crystal Reports, at least start with this book more than any others. This is the one that actually gets your feel wet. As it does walk you through many basic things, it should probably have more of a beginner's title, or a tutorial title - The Complete Crystal Reports Learning Reference, something to that effect.

The perfect companion to the PMBOK

I put off studying for my test but with the help of this book I can say that I just passed my PMP. Ms. Mulcahy provides many useful pointers in regard to material on the test and the exam situation itself. She helps make sense of the PMBOK.I recommend this book and will be sharing it with my friends who are planning on taking the test.

Book is good but need another book also

Book is good but need another book also at the beginning level. I find this books more dificult to go through than the wrox books but there is very books that cover this areaExamples for chapter 13-14 don't work.I would prefer if the examples were more simple and explained better.I will finish this book soon, but I do know that I will need to get another book on server control with better explanations to fully understand this technology.

This is THE reference/tutorial on UNIX.

All the other praise is well deserved. This book sets an incredibly high precedent as to the quality of technical literature. GET THIS BOOK. The UNIX API has never been presented better.
My only single complaint is that the text is written as a programmer would have written it: that is, much passive voice. Just make sure you have some coffee and a lot of time. It took me a little time to get through it (a 3 day cruise in the bahamas, actually), but I am to this day thankful that I did.
