Excellent Technical Resource

Lili covers Telecom issues from A to Z. I have been in this business for 25+ years and find this book to be an excellent choice for managers to use as a reference. No one is perfect and this book can offer valuable guidance when dealing with telecom issues. It would make a GREAT read when planning for growth and looking for options. Once you complete it you have the knowledge you will need when dealing with vendors and provisioners. My ONLY drawback is that now that it is in print, we MUST have a second edition, afterall, the advances MAY make this edition obsolete in a scant few months, Lili has a lot of hard work into this book and it is difficult to keep abreast of a subject that changes as much as the IT field does. THANKS for taking the time and effort into writing such a top shelf edition on a difficult field of study!

One of the best reference for Interior routing protocols!

I primarily used this books as a reference for passing the BSCN exam but after reading through the entire book, I have learned much more than what was required to pass the exam. I still use this book for reference on my job.
If you want to learn RIP, RIP II, OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP, IS-IS, policy-based routing,... there is no better reference than this book to get design and implementation information. Worth so much more than the price.

What I Learned The Hard Way

The book is well organized, clearly written and full of real code examples. It addresses the common and not-so-common pitfalls, and you can tell it has been written by a "seasoned" engineer. The coverage on RTOS's is excellent.

Pathetic Index

A reference book is only as good as its index. This book has a poor index. Example: Do you know that you want to use the Switch command in a formula but need the syntax, an example, and a couple words of wisdom? Give up. It might be in there but I don't have time to read the whole book to find out. Guess I'll have to limp by with Crystal's HELP. Anyone know of a good Crystal book that helps a guy when building formulas? I want syntax and examples for each function. I would like each function in the index. Where it belongs. Please :)
