Tthe Greatest Book on Game Programming...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I met Andre Lamothe, I had had a good grasp at C/C++, 32bit Window Programming and Assembly Language. However, Ididn't know what program I make. I had made some s Exel-like-calculater, a simple word processor and so on. However, preceding project is very boring and not what I really wanted.. One day I went to the book store and met Andre Lamothe. When I first have a look at this book, I feel the cover is very cool!. Soon, I really wanted to learn graphic programming. This book is very very great to get some elementary stuff on DirectX graphical and game programming. Now, I am a Expert on game and graphic programming... Ha Ha Ha.. The only drawback is about 3D... I trust Andre Lamothe. Maybe he is writing a new edition or another book on 3D..

Great guide but needs updating

This book is excellent for both the novice and experienced eBayer alike. Everyone who uses eBay regularly should be able to take something away from this book.

As a previous reviewer has stated, some of the tips are common sense, and come straight off the ebay site. However, its great to have these tips in one place and easily referenced. This can serve as a checklist for your own buying and selling procedures.

PS: Second edition has now been release.

The one big negative - no coverage of the latest 'bid sniping software'. This automates your bidding, allows better planning, does not increase the sell value early in the auction and maximizes the chance of winning (by placing a bid in the last seconds of auction). This software isn't highly publicized by ebay.

This is a great book, but look out for newer texts covering the latest auction software.

Good Book for both Core and OS exams

I just received my A+ Certification and only used this book and the practice tests from www.dalidesign, which by the way where I purchased the test vouchers and saved mucho bucks.
I highly recommend this book, but recommend using at least another study source if you do not have much experience with Hardware and Operating Systems.
I did find a few mistakes in this book and this is why I did not give it 4 stars.
Initially, read the book from front to back. And then separately study the material thoroughly for the Hardware test and then once you take/pass this test, do the same for the OS test. This is what worked for me and hopefully it will work for you also.Good Luck.

Great start on PHP/MySQL for programmers

When I got this book, I already had experience programming in Perl, but PHP was entirely new to me. I also had database/SQL knowledge, but had never touched MySQL. I knew the powerful combination of PHP and MySQL was the key to solving a big programming problem, but I didn't know where to start. This book made learning a breeze. Just a couple days after I picked it up, my test PHP/MySQL application was working. The rest is history.
I think this book would be great for intermediate programmers who want to implement PHP and MySQL, but don't know how. I was amazed at how quickly this book got me off the ground. (Hint: people with no clue about databases may want to supplement this with a MySQL- or database-specific reference, though this guide does provide some basics.)
