Title: Final Fantasy VIII Official Strategy Guide
Publisher: Bradygames
Authors: David Cassady
Rating: 5/5

Awesome, very detailed guide :)

Excellent guide, very helpful and covers just about everything there is. The monster list was very detailed and informative. And it's all in the book, ie. no need to check PlayOnline every second page. ;) However it doesn't cover the final boss strategies like the FF7 guide did.
The best part about this book I reckon is the full statistics listings (for Magic, GFs, abilities, items, cards, bestiary).
I got the guide after beating the game twice and I discovered heaps of stuff that I've missed in the first 2 games. :)
I think it's the best one out of BradyGames' FF7,FF8,FF9 guides. I haven't bought the FF10 one yet, EB ran out of stock o_O

No computers here, just solid photography information.

This book has practically nothing on actual photograhy. It does has a tremendous amount of information on what to do with your pictures once you've taken them though. If you're looking for a book to improve the initial qaulity of your photos, this isn't it.

This is the best book to consider while preparing for Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4. The book greatly explains all the details about Java programming. The Exam watch and 2 minutes drill are very helpful. I have succeded Sun certification with a good percentile only be studying this book and trying out the examples using note pad.The test exams and master exams really helps you and provides you a complete GUI similar to Sun Certification. I strongly recommend this book to be considered for your Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4.

Excellent book that covers all the exam objectives

This is an excellent book for preparing for the exam (since I took 310-035, I am covering from that as aspect only). I passed the exam with ease by reading this book for about 2 weeks (I have extensive programming experience).

For folks who are not new to Java:
The book covers all the test objectives well. The real exam questions are very similar to the ones in this book (the mock exams including the extra one are good). If your goal is to just PASS the exam then look no further, just read this book. If you are aiming for high scores(...)read Khalid Mughal & Rolf Rasmussen's book particulary for Threads.

For folks who are new to Java:
If you are new to Java programming read some fundamental java book(like Head First Java), write simple java snippets using say notepad or wordpad, and compile using command line (never use IDE). Once you are comfortable with java syntax, loops etc, then read each chapter of this book, follow it up with the exams provided by Dan Chisholm (...) Those exams cover both the fundamentals and the exam objectives. Follow that with the end of the chapter questions in this book.

The testing software provided in the CD is not great (no where near Whizlabs, of course Whizlabs comes with a price), but will help you in giving an idea about the exam and also managing time.

Good luck and happy reading.
