A good starting point for ASP.NET

Programming ASP.net does a wonderful job of explaining ASP.net's event driven model and the rest of the core feature sets to ASP.net. It also targets both new developers using VB.Net and also C#. While this a great book for new ASP developers, its definitely not a book for those developers who need the nitty gritty details for the ASP.net classes. The book also doesn't touch enough on extending ASP.NET w/ HTTP Modules and leaves out a lot of things that seasoned developer would find useful such as explanations on the distributed debugging features of Visual Studio.NET IDE, handling file uploads, handling email related task, etc.
If you are a new ASP.NET developer, this is the book for you.

Don't waste your time and money

Rand and SAM's publishing target this at an Intermediate-Advanced audience. This is certainly the case, I brought both the Sybex Master Exchange Server 2003 and SAMS Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Unleashed and this ones the best by FAR.
Plenty of good information on Design, Migration and Documentation. Excellent info on Mobility, Performance Monitoring and Recoverablility.
All in all my pick on Exchange Server 2003 Books to date.

There have to be better books than this.

Although this guy is repeatedly saying, throughout the book, "I am talking about ..." and "I am not talking about ...," at page 401, I still CANNOT figure out what he is really talking about. Because of this book, I have to be very, very careful in the future when ordering books published by Sybex.

A goal oriented guide to RUP

This is a good book telling the philosophy behind RUP. And it also gives some practical advice to adopt, config and apply RUP.Although it is not a thorough description of RUP because it doesn't systematicly describe the disciplines in RUP, it provides some other reference. A good book for RUP beginners.
