Title: Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with Applications (2nd Edition)

It just doesn't work

Even though this book is several years old now, the information inside it is still holding up very well. All important Object Oriented Analysis and Design concepts appear in this book, and are presented in clear, easy-to-understand formats.
There are some "problems" with this book, (which is why I reduced my rating to 4 stars. First, the notation -- this book was written before UML was standardized, so the cloud notation Booch introduces is no longer commonly used. Second, the examples are implemented with C++. The author would be performing a great service if he were to re-issue this book using UML notation and Java or C# as the implementaiton language.

New Test, ---- Old & Error Ridden Book

New Material in the CCIE Test is not covered by this book. The Book stresses the old test materials. Furthermore, I found multiple places where erroneous information will mislead you and if you accept the facts as written, will lead to a failing score. Best example is the coverage of multicast. The book explains the reports versus querys completly backwards.

The finest Access book on the market for serious developers

For an Access programmer who wants to move past wizards and macros this is the book to buy. Updated with a chapter on ADO (there's still an appendix with DAO info) this gives you the most information in one book. I'm waiting for the second part.

A Masterpiece on Combinatorial Optimisation

Christos Papadimitriou, my hero is a hope for all of us who wish to master the fascinating field of Combinatorial Optimisation. Especially recommended are the chapters on matching, NP Completeness and Approximation Algorithms.
As another reader has remarked, this book is quite old though (published first in 1982). For a more to date book on Combinatorial Optimisation, one might want to look at Cook, Cunningham, Pulleyblank and Schrijver's book on Combinatorial Optimisation (published in 1998).
