Title: ASP.NET Website Programming: Problem - Design - Solution, C# Edition
Publisher: Wrox
Authors: Marco Bellinaso, Kevin Hoffman
Rating: 3/5
Customer opinion - 3 stars out of 5
A rushed/careless rewrite of what could have been damn good

I can see why the C# version won such acclaim. This book really touches a lot of good topics, and does teach you a lot.
However,
a) The site and code are FULL of errors (Sickening they released it that way). Example there are comments "Why is country hard coded to spain" Gee .. you shouldn't be asking us that, and You go to My Account, and click on "Sign Out" and poof .. error .. Damn, that is a pretty basic thing to miss.
b) Misprints/errors/inconsistencies with the site. Y'know .. it is hard enough to learn something, and then you make it tougher .. damn.
c) The site, needs to be downloaded. No CDROM. Damn, 60 bucks for a small book and you can't even give a CDROM? How cheap is that?
On the good side, if you have the patience of a saint, and don't mind banging your head a bit on an iron wall, this book does have a lot to teach, .. as long as you are willing to learn as a good student, and challenge everything you read in this book by actually typing it out YOURSELF, rather than copy pasting it.
Final Conclusion: Is this book good for you? Depends, if you are ultra patient and are willing to deal with irritating mistakes, then yea this book has a *LOT* to teach. And yea, if you are not a seasoned ASP.NET developer .. stay away .. trust me, stay away. :)

Preparing for CCNA exam, this book can help u pass

if u wanna pass the CCNA exam, this single book can help u pass. this book provides fast and effective way to review and prepare for CCNA exam. i have spent about 4 weeks to read this book cover to cover and i just passed CCNA 640-801 yesterday in the 1st tried with score 950, and directly come to review this book.
WHAT IS THIS BOOK FOR: exam preparationWHAT IS THIS BOOK NOT FOR: as a text book or referencefor the reason, read below
onething to mention: this book doesn't include any router simmulations, not even the educational edition, or else this book will b real perfect !!!!
IMPORTANT: this book is for "CCNA exam preparation" that means this book is not a text book or reference. this book is much like a review book, it gives everthing that CCNA exam requires, tell u every points, every topics that u must focus for the exam, ask u to du everything to make sure that u understand and r ready for exam. the method of preparation that this book provide is excellent, u won't face the problem that read the last chapter and forget the chapter1.
IMPORTANT: if u r a 100% beginner looking for a good reference or text that will teach u everything from 1 to 100, then this book is NOT FOR U, better look for cisco network academy CCNA text books (which is like 1200+ pages per volume, and there r more than 1 volume for full CCNA) from ciscopress that willl really start and teach u from the very beginning of networking world and explain everything every topic in details and leave no questions behind but they never ask questions that will b asked in CCNA exam, they just teach the technology in details (notice something from the thick texts, u read up to ch5 then u forget ch1 !!! this is very normal)
the highlight feathure of the book will b the "exam essential, writen lab and review questions" which previde the best and fastest reviewing metheod of each chapter.
the highlight chapter of the book will b the subneting chaper, this book really teach the best and fastest way to du subnetting, or at least a lot better way than what i studied from cisco network acedemy programs.
so now ... i hope enyone who read up to this point can find out if this book is for u or not

Title: Resident Evil(TM) Official Strategy Guide for GameCube
Publisher: Brady Games
Authors: Dan Birlew
Rating: 3/5
Customer opinion - 3 stars out of 5
Better than I thought but compared to Dan Birlew's others...

I'll admit the guide has weakpoints, but also has strong points.
The guide covers both characters in two seperate walkthru's which is okay, a you don't have to do too much exensive reading. The maps are great but when the walkthrough puts all the maps just before all the words, that causes a lot of page flipping to go on. The walkthrough also has many typos and errors, and doesn't always clearly explain what to do during puzzles. Also they're COA (Course of Action if your an MGS fan) isn't the best. Like it says to go blasting Ravens in an area where they only attack if you do the puzzle wrong, and if you mess up you can leave and come back later. Most of their strategies are a HUGE waste of ammo.
The boss strategies are good and they're inventory managements are very good and the walkthrough is very organized.
OVERALL:Positive+Good maps+Inventory checks in every save room+Organized walkthrough+Seperate walkthroughs+Interviews in the back+Flowcharts
Negative-Puzzle solutions are downright TERRIBLE (Go to Prima for that)-The all out KILL EVERYTHING STRATEGY is not smart.-Not good strategies for killing enemies-Maps can't always be at the beginning of the walkthrough-Too many typos and misleads to be very helpful
