Title: The Photoshop 7 Wow! Book
Publisher: Peachpit Press
Authors: Jack Davis
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Probably the best Photoshop 7 book for experienced users...

This is an awesome Photoshop 7 book, but it is not really designed for novices. If you are new to Photoshop look elsewhere..but if like me you have a few years into it you will really appreciate the professional skills taught here. Every page is packed with tips/skills/insights! Absolutley fantastic, and you can spend serious time learning from this book and CD. A definite must for the committed Photoshop user, but just don't spread the pages too much as they start to fall out after a while. Oh yes, the print quality is nice with full glossy color on most pages. Get it! (PS: There is a lot of redundancy with the Photoshop 6 WOW book, but to me it's worth buying the new version just for the 7 additions).

Title: Introduction to the Theory of Computation
Publisher: Course Technology
Authors: Michael Sipser
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5

Sipser explains a difficult subject with remarkable clarity and conciseness. Echoing another reviewer's sentiments, the "Proof Idea" is wonderful and really helps by stripping down a proof into its essentials. Highly recommended.

best IT book purchase yet

for technical content, BASP3 is an excellent book; those who have issues with the grammer did not notice the literary style was geared more toward fisrt-person casual interaction - hence the series title "Programmer-to-Programmer."
Even someone experienced wih ASP (as I was) can benefit from the excellent VBScript reference and ADO explanations. The book provides very hard-to-find information, including how to interface with different types of databases (this is harder to find than you'd think) as well as detailed syntax descriptions for VBScript options (another difficult to find item).
This is not a book to learn web development! If you don't already have a good grasp of HTML, start somewhere else. If you've taken HTML as far as you can and are ready to learn dynamic content using ASP, this is the place to start.
