Enjoyable read, good coverage of motivations for COM.

Having been involved in the CORBA world for the past two years, it has been nice to come up for air and look at another object model. Don Box does a great job presenting COM as a good mechanism for code and interface reuse in a multiplatform world. The book is rather intellectual though, read it twice! Highly recommended.

Not Just for IT

"Managing IT as a Business" is an interesting read. I think a lot of the concepts can be applied to marketing, HR and finance organizations as well. That being the case, this book is indeed a "survival guide", relevant for all the enabling business units that report into the CEO/COO.

My good Software Engineering Text Book

I am a Software Engineering student and my lecturer told us to buy this book so that it can be used as our text book. I found it very good and it really helps me understand what Software Engineering is all about. I am doing my Software Engineering project now.. and I found that I am in an advantage stage compared to those without this book. So... listen to a student advise... this book is worth the money you are paying for. I wanted to give 4 and a half stars for this book.. but there isn't any option here that let me do this. Guess I have to give this book a 4 stars.

Developing IP Multicast Networks

This is the finest Technical book I have ever read. It is outstanding!! Beau Williamson has covered multicasting in great detail and has done so is such a way that everyone can understand it. It covers all aspects of the many different multicasts protocols and mechanism. He clearly explains the RFCs and their weak points. It takes a general approach to multicasting and is an excellent guide to any vender. There are very few Technical books that have been written is well. Great job!!!
